SlapFunk x Filling Pieces
Two Amsterdam brands with shared roots in Suriname and one shared language: music and fashion.
SlapFunk brings its roots in underground club culture. Filling Pieces brings its fashion design perspective. Together, they’ve created an exclusive knitwear capsule that celebrates self expression, cultural identity and the community that connects them.
Two pieces. Two brands. One story woven in knit.
The Knit Tank Top
The Knit Tank Top keeps it clean and lets the symbol speak. It has an embroidered Gowtu knot on the chest, an emblem that appears often in Filling Pieces’ designs. In Surinamese culture, the mattenklopper, or Gowtu knot, stands for protection, so a simple layering piece carries a meaning that goes beyond the knit.
The Knit Rugby Shirt
The green Knit Rugby tells the full story, front to back. The front has the same embroidered Gowtu knot. The back has an embroidered Ingi, the spiritual guide linked to ancestral spirits in the Winti religion and part of SlapFunk’s logo, together with a traditional Surinamese weapon. It’s the piece where both brands’ heritage comes together most clearly.
The Symbols
Every detail in this capsule has a meaning. The Gowtu knot and the Ingi reflect the founders’ Surinamese roots and the cultural stories behind both brands. The pieces are made to be worn, but also to be understood.
The Campaign
The campaign features Ghetto Funk Collective. Their movement and performance bring the energy of the dancefloor to the collection.
The collective represents the spirit at the heart of this project. The campaign shows the capsule in motion, worn by the people and the culture that inspired it.

The collaboration will be celebrated on Wednesday 21 October 2026 with an exclusive community gathering in Amsterdam, powered by Belvedere Vodka, featuring a live performance by Ghetto Funk Collective.
