For Spring/Summer 2026, Filling Pieces presents Breaking Bread, a collection inspired by shared rituals and the connections they create.
Breaking bread is more than a meal. It is an act that brings people together, symbolising trust,
unity, and the sharing of life’s essentials. While food is fundamental to life, it remains inaccessible to many. Yet even in the most difficult circumstances, people continue to gather and share what they have, however little, finding connection through the simple act of eating together. Across cultures and social realities, food remains a universal language shaped by care, tradition, and time spent together.
Breaking Bread draws from the love of food as a cultural anchor.
The collection reflects the heritage of recipes passed down through generations, the craft behind cooking, and the importance of quality ingredients. These values mirror Filling Pieces’ own approach to design:
an emphasis on care and attention.
The collection builds on familiar Filling Pieces silhouettes, reworked through elevated variations. Proportions are refined, materials feel considered and details are subtle yet deliberate, offering a sense of progression while remaining true to the brand.
Among the anticipated styles for SS26 are the Loafer Broken Plate and the Loafer Pepper. Graphic storytelling plays an important role throughout Breaking Bread. The Supper graphic appears across the collection, depicting people gathered around a table, a visual expression of togetherness and shared experience.
As a brand, Filling Pieces feels fortunate to be able to explore this theme for SS26. Breaking Bread is a reflection on gratitude, togetherness, and the moments, both ordinary and profound, that bring people closer, even when circumstances are limited.
